When each client books their wedding in Arlene is at hand to offer her personalised advice and eighteen years of experience in the bridal industry to each bride until the day they get married.
What a lot of brides don’t realise when purchasing their gown is it will most likely need altered. For standard alterations The Sewing Rooms will contact the bride approximately two months before their wedding date to get them and any other members of their bridal party previously booked in for their first fits. Standard alterations will usually take one to two fits and then one final fit and the dress’s are then ready for their big day.
Brides should contact The Sewing Rooms as soon as they know their wedding date to book in their bridal party for alterations to avoid disappointment as we book up very quickly. Alteration Types.
Alterations to reduce the size of a gown most commonly include;
- Taking in bust
- Taking in waist
- Taking Hips
- Shortening length
- Shortening straps
Alterations frequently required to let out a gown, depends on the seam allowance provided inside the dress to allow these alterations. e.g. If a bust and waist are too tight in a zip backed dress a lace up corset can be added to allow the bride more room.
